Uncertain Beauty
Uncertain Beauty presents new paintings by Robert Sullivan and spotlights his most ambitious and extensive display of work shown in Maine in the last decade. Through classically rendered, figure-based paintings, Sullivan creates an unexpected interplay of shapes, transparency, composition, and color. Created as a metaphor for our current moment, the works explore the tension between uncertainty and beauty, inviting viewers to reconsider what beauty is and where it can be found.
